What are you full of?
Last night at our Wednesday night Bible study, we had a good discussion on Acts 6 and what Stephen was full of. We read in verses 5 and 8 that Stephen was full of faith and the Holy Spirit and also full of grace and power. I was amazed that we had the most conversation (which I love) on being full of GRACE. One thing we see in Stephen's life and death is grace. Grace is another word for unmerited favor or getting something you don't deserve. Stephen was able to be gracious when he was waiting on the widows he was assigned to take care of, when he was falsely accused, and even when he was being stoned to death. I was eating lunch today and I began to listen to the conversations around me. Most were not very gracious! The complaints ranged from the way their food was cooked, to the way people drive, to the terrible ex-daughter in law. If someone was listening to you today, what would they hear? Most of us can really find the faults in others but we miss our own. My prayer is that God would help us all to be full of grace like Stephen.
